Beautiful "G" Family

This was my second trip out to their house, the first time, the littlest man was just 4 months old...now he is crawling, giggling at everything, and into everything! It was great fun to see how much he had grown!! This family is just sweet as can be with 3 gorgeous kiddos! Each full of such personality, it is always fun to get to spend a couple of hours with them!

"Mommy, I love her"

This sweet little peanut is my dear, dear friend's daughter. Such a wonderful little family, with an eager big sister at home they welcomed this beautiful little girl. I waited SO long to get my hands on her, and was finally able to just a few short days after she joined our world.

My son, who has had many play dates with her big sister, knew who she was just from her pictures, and said "Mommy, I love her, and I haven't even got to hold her yet." I explained to him, that is the wonderful thing about babies, you love them for the wonder of who they will become. You love them for who they already are. You love them because you love their family. And you love them because they are SO squishy cute!" To that he giggled and agreed! We do love her!

"Mommy, who is that baby?"

I had the pleasure, and I mean pleasure, of photographing such a sweet, sweet little girl.  She was perfectly beautiful, just like I think all newborns are, and she was tiny! She decided that she was going to join our world three weeks early, she was ready for everyone to meet her! In the photographer world, the best we can hope for is a sleepy baby when doing the newborn photo shoots.  We dream of that little baby, perfectly posed, snoring away with out a care in the world...this was that baby. I moved her, and moved her and shifted her, and posed her, stripped her down to her birthday suit, and not a care in the world! She was perfect, just like I'm sure her parents think she is!  Let me introduce, Sweet Princess E!

When I got home from this session, I was so excited to get my hands on the photos to share some with mom and dad, my son walked in and asked "Mommy, who is that baby?" I answered "A sweet, sweet girl who answered all of her parents dreams and prayers." It took my 5 year old a second to register, and then questioned "Did they get that baby from their belly or did the "Stork" drop it off at their house?"  I giggled, as I do at a lot of his antics, and told him that she came from her Mommy's belly.  Again, a pause, and then he told me "Mommy, that Stork needs a new hobby, all these babies are coming from bellies."

Mommy, your eyeballs are like Zeros

Well, I guess, this is my new "thing", my new trial, my new time taker, my new necessity. Welcome to my blog. That's right, "MY" blog. 6 months ago, as technical as I can be and as much knowledge as I have about social networking and the like, I was not even sure of what a blog was...let alone the point of it.

Times have changed, well I guess it is a new month and all, so yes, onward to March, but then I guess I am late...

Since it is "MY" blog, I guess it will include all sorts of things that are important to me. My kids are important, and goodness do I have some stories about them.  My businesses are important, yes business is plural. I technically have 3. Oh my, three.  I like to do lots of things, and I always have ideas of more things to do, but really, how many can a girl have?? I am a professional photographer, I make little girl hair accessories, and I run a day care out of my home. Oh, and I am the resident Nanny, Cook, Maid and Chauffeur among other things, your classic Mommy.  My husband is important, and I will have to be careful about the stories I share not to embarrass him, because sometimes the things he does....O.M.G.  My friends are important, and my Family is important too, as dysfunctional as we are, I love them all.

Well, a little about me. I am the middle child of sort-of 5 children...depends on who you are asking and what part of the family I am with (keep in my dysfunctional) I have two step siblings that I have known, well, for a really long time. I have 2 full siblings, that I am also smack in the middle of. Either way you cut it, I am still the middle child. I am your classic Middle Child.  I like to feel important, I'm a bit of an over achiever, I get a little over emotional sometimes, I'm more independent, I like to play the peacemaker, and I am creative.

Children are my creative outlet, so is my photography, and my little bows. I had a little handsome boy come first, but quickly learned that you can't really play dress up with them. Their clothes consist of sports, sharks and dinosaurs and your occasional additional animal until you get into the cartoon idol phase.  Three years later, I was graced with a little girl, I myself am not a girlie girl, but I like to dress up and get "prettied" every now and then, but I was so excited for this little girl to dress up and put pretty things on. That is when I started making my hair bows. She came out with a full head of dark beautiful hair so I quickly learned how to make clips and bows and ties and all sorts of fun adornments.  And as quick as I learned to make all these beautiful pieces was as quick as she learned how to rip them out of her hair.  So since I had learned all those techniques, I decided I would share them, and that was the start of my Hair Accessory Company, Mommy&Mia.
Next, on to the photography thing. My son was just the cutest baby, so I bought a nice camera. I like to take pictures. A lot of pictures. I annoy the heck out of my siblings with my camera.  I don't think I am ever with out my camera...its kind of like an arm or something.  It really might just be permanently attached.  I have thousands of pictures of my children and my nieces and nephews and my siblings, and my parents, and Christmas mornings, and Sunday dinners and trips to the park.  I don't think any one else even brings their camera any more because they are certain that I will have mine! When my son was born, I realized that the true meaning of "Time flies when you are having fun" was meant to be used when you are speaking about how fast your children grow.  My first born will be 5 this summer. 5. Not sure right now how I feel about that. I still remember the first time I held him in my arms, like it was yesterday. I was meant to have children, I love every second of the time I spend with my babies, even the minutes where one of them is on the floor face down throwing a major tantrum, because it makes me choose to be strong, and be that Mommy that they need to nurture them, teach them right from wrong, and about respect.  I have pictures of them on that floor, screaming (thank goodness pictures don't have sound) kicking and flailing about with tears streaming because I wouldn't let them have that "one more cookie."  I have pictures of that because that is part of what makes them who they are. Its the pieces that us Mom's hold on to. I have pictures of the good stuff too, the times that it took my kids to be strong, like my sons first day of preschool.  I think I have one-hundred-and-eight-five pictures from that morning. He was so proud of himself, he was so brave.  I had to be brave too, brave for him, and brave for me.  My son has peanut allergies, and preschool would be the first time that I was trusting another adult outside of my family to care for him while eating.  I was scared for him, but I saw that he wasn't.  He showed me that what I had taught him, was instilled in him. I knew he was ready, so I took another picture.
Now please understand, just because I am a professional photographer, this doesn't mean that I don't still take snap shots of my kids.  Most days, snap shots are the way of life as I am running around with playdoh in one hand and camera in other, so yes, some that I post on here will be "snapshots" of my children. Please don't judge my camera abilities based on a shot that I took, standing on one foot to sneak in on my kid to "catch them in the act" I plan on posting some professional pictures, and then pictures of my children, and then there will be professional pictures of my children.

Here is my sweet pea, M

Here is one of those pictures I was talking about, again, thankfully there is no sound to photo's...

My daughter is a Diva. She is dramatic, stubborn, bossy, demanding but sometimes reserved.  But I tell you, no one loves like that girl. She may be all those things at a mere 20 months old, but she lets you know how much she loves you. She loves hugs and kisses and to tickle because she loves to giggle and hear people giggle. She has a huge heart.

 Here is my son, J

And other one of "those" photos

My son is a total ham, a lover and snuggler, overly sensitive some days, playful and is a total social butterfly.  I think he might be one of the funniest kids I know (not that I am biased.)  Today he came home from preschool, so excited to tell me what he learned today. Got a very serious look on his face and said "Mommy, your eyeballs are like zeros." All I could do was giggle.  He makes me giggle, maybe I should have taken a picture.
